CPV is a fracked-gas power company. The have built more than 8000 MW of fracked-gas plant with tiny fraction of solar plants to greenwash their terrible climate and environmental impact. They are probably the worst climate culprits in the world plugging in almost every major city in the U.S. to fracked gas dependency. If the solar industry allows itself to be used this way then it will lose all credibility. Coal is not the problem today, gas is. Methane has 100 times the global warming impact as carbone.

As of October, 241 coal-fired power plants are on track to be decommissioned.”

I believe the hold up here is not coal fired plants in particularly being decommissioned, it is being able to interconnect grids from north to south and coast to coast that would allow more solar PV farms and wind farms to be connected to the national grid. Build the transmission infrastructure and the utilities will build more solar PV and wind farms getting rid of coal sooner than later.
