I have had solar edge only for a couple of years. I have contacted them twice about upgrading and and getting a back up battery. Contacted them they sent email saying someone would get back to me still waiting. So I guess if this is how they do business no happy. Is there another company I can contact.

Research the company and their products. They are one of the top solar products on the market. Their business model is as a manufacturer, they do not work directly with consumers. The Solar installer is the one you need to get warranty issues addressed with. The issue is there are so many fly by night solar installers put there. They are not all created equal. I had one optimizer out of 70 fail, after 2 years and they replaced it right away and the installer replaced it at no charge. I could not be happier.

In reply to Rose Edwards. That is the installers fault not the manufacturers. All communications are via installers not the manufacturers (solaredge).

I have 2 solark 12kw inverters. No problems and can get a tech on the phone instantly. They are set up to wifi so they can make changes remotely

I have been catching Solaredge customers up to par in the Phoenix area for about a year now. An upgrade across the board sounds as good as it is terrifying, but let’s roll it out. I’ll be working on the system anyways upgraded or upgrading, up-to-date is a must!! …= PRODUCING = $$$

Poor experience with SE. Our inverter went out within the first year. Replacement came 3 months later, and at best, produces 50% capacity. Currently waiting resolution of 2nd opened ticket and refund of electric bills during outages.

I have solar edge installed in 2016. My system has 25 optimizers. Starting in 2019 the optimizers began failing. It took me until 2023 to finally get solar edge to replace the total of 15 that had stopped working by 2022. I have a 15 year warranty. They would not honor the warranty. It costs me $2100 to pay for the 15 new optimizers. Now they want me to trust them to replace these old optimizers with a new warranty. Their warranty claim is useless. Trust them at your own peril.

Interesting article. I have a solar field installed 12/2022. How do I know if I have Home Hub Inverter? Our phone monitoring software does not give half the info our sales rep sold us on so could use an upgrade. We would also like to add a battery for backup as any over production is annually bought back by PG&E for next to nothing. Better to be able to save extra production.
