Local solar installer Main Solar Solutions has introduced a 30-year solar component warranty, believed to be the first long-term warranty offering by a solar installer in Maine.
“We understand that choosing to invest in a solar electric system is a significant decision for Maine homeowners,” said Sam Zuckerman, CEO at Maine Solar Solutions. “We’ve introduced a first-in-Maine 30-year warranty for that reason. It isn’t just about offering the longest coverage in the state; it’s about delivering peace of mind and fixed costs to our customers over the lifetime of their solar system.”
The warranty covers a wide range of components including solar panels, inverters, and labor.
“Our comprehensive 30-year warranty provides unparalleled protection and peace of mind to homeowners across the state,” said Zuckerman. “We understand just how important consumer protection is to all of us, and it is our goal to empower more Mainers to make the switch to solar energy, secure in the knowledge that their investment is protected for decades to come.”

Here’s the problem with this pundit. SolarCity made these types of claims to adopters of its systems installed in Nevada, Arizona and some other regions, before becoming TESLA and pulling out of those markets. The question one (has) to ask is what components are used in (my) system and how long have these manufacturers been in business, what are the trends online for these components and systems and what if any does (this) company do for me now as so far many of these “solar companies” have not made it 30 years in operations. Just trying to keep it real and focused.
